Question: Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why?I'm worse at breaking up with books than boys. Boys I've broken up with, series...not so much. If I've committed past one book it's VERY HARD for me to stop reading. There are lots of series that I read one book and then decide not to continue, but that feels more like a blind-date than having a relationship with a book. Last year I tried to break-up with a TV show, Vampire Diaries (read about the break-up here) and I came back (which wasn't so bad because this season was pretty good). I briefly thought about breaking up with the Jacky Faber series, but just took a rest and came back.
Once I read book two, normally you've got me. There are probably some series I've broken up with in the past but honestly I cannot remember any off the top of my head. There definitely haven't been any in the past couple of years from the looks of my goodreads. Will it happen at some point? Probably. Has it? Doesn't look like it.

Hopping through. I should re-try the Jacky Faber series. I thought the first book was just okay. People sure are dedicated. I got a nasty comment on my amazon review when I only gave it a 3/5. The commenter accused me of not having actually read it. Kinda silly.

This post is hilarious! I don't have a problem breaking up with books but I do have issues with writing bad reviews. It is so hard for me to give a book 1 star!! AYE!!

I had to break up with the Vampire Diaries in both TV and book series. I loved the original book series, even read the first continuation of it. But once the original author got booted from writing them, I quit.
The show just started driving me crazy with all the drama, I couldn't handle it anymore.

I am also pretty bad at breaking up with books but I go on breaks with them all the time! If I have the intention to read the rest later, I feel totally okay with putting it down.

Haha, I tried to quit the Vampire Diaries TV series too (it's just too weird now), but I couldn't :( Breaking up is hard!

Sometimes I feel that because I started a series I have to finish it. But sometimes there are books that are just going on for too long that I cannot deal with anymore (i.e., House of Night series)

I completely understand! If I've moved deeper into the series then I feel compelled to complete the series. It has to really, really start getting to me to even consider leaving it. Have a great weekend!

Too true! Once the characters have gotten you invested even a little bit, it's hard to move on. I love the title of the post and the way you wrote it like a relationship :D Old follower - Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.
