Follow Friday - Emotional Scenes

Follow Friday is a feature created by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.  It's a fun blog hop where you meet other book bloggers and find people to follow.
Question: Tell us about the most emotional scene you've ever read in a book -- and how did you react?
It's hard to say what the most emotional scene "ever" is because I've read a lot of books. The thing about emotions is that they are kinda fickle and fade.  So it's much easier to remember the most emotional scene of the past year or tow, than the most emotional scene ever in my life.  Of the past couple years, the most emotional reaction I can remember is to The Fault In Our Stars (review here).  That ending.  I can't really say more because of spoilers. But it's a book about 2 kids with cancer so you can imagine that it reaches some pretty dark places.

I sobbed during that book.Messy, mascara running tears till the point where I could not read the page.  I kept having to put the book down every few minutes and gain a little bit of self control before continuing the book.  Often times when books are too emotional I have to set them aside, return to reality, then pick them back up with the emotion has passed.

Nice points! Haven't heard of this book you mention but it does sound like an emotional read!

I've had other emotional reads myself, but rarely do they make me cry, it's other emotions that I feel. But like you mention, they're the heat of the moment kind, if I look at a previously read book now I likely won't be able to remember what kinds of emotions I was having.

The curse of reading too much! ;)

So many people have raved about that book and I still have to read it. I have to make sure I'm alone in case I end up sobbing too! Hope you have a good Friday :)

Fault In Our Stars seems to be popular today. I've never read the book but it sounds really emotional.
