Follow Friday - Blogger Sins

Follow Friday is a feature created by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.  It's a fun blog hop where you meet other book bloggers and find people to follow.
Confess your blogger sins! Is there anything as a newbie blogger that you've done, that as you gained more experience you were like -- oops?
I probably have plenty of blogger sins since I kinda started blogging by accident.  However, I don't really remember what most of them are.  What I do remember (and really isn't that bad) is being gentler on books than I am now.  I think as a blogger it takes awhile to find your voice and the bravery to be like "This book sucks so much" when your instinct is to not piss anyone off. At first I didn't want to hurt any feelings or ostracize any publishers. When I wrote bad reviews I was apologetic because I legitimately felt guilty.  Now I just don't care. I'm like "I have a library card! Give me your worst!"

I have this attitude now too. I don't get that many review copies in the first place so it doesn't matter to me if a bad review pisses off a publisher.

My biggest mistake was starting my blog without having a clear direction for it, because then I thought it was cool to have a website. Yeah, it's still cool, but I've found my purpose: writing and Books! :)

I think I'm the opposite. I'm often too hard on books.

That can me a struggle. I still always try to find and comment on the good parts of the book, I hate giving one star reviews...but sometimes it just can't be helped!

Yeah, trying to write a review for a book I didn't enjoy was one of the hardest things I had to do. What I did and do is try to stress why I didn't like this or that. What little bits drove me over the top or whatever. I still try to find some good points, and I always hate having to score a book so low because I know that this is that author's baby. So yeah, I always just stress that the book wasn't for me.

Here's my Follow Friday

Have a GREAT weekend!

hahaha I love your "I have a library card! Give me your worst!" Excellent statement. I am probably too nice as well for right now. I'm still new, I'm finding my voice and a format!

New linky follower :)

That was a great closing line, haha. I agree, I definitely felt guilty giving a negative review at first, but at the end of the day, it's inevitable, you can't love every book! I think as long as the review is still respectful, there's really no way around a negative review here and there.
