So I'm reading along and it starts talking about a vision of a forest fire. I make a mental note because I'm headed to Montana during wildfire season. I continue reading. One of the very early plot points (thus not a spoiler) is the main character moving to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
That's on the southern border of Yellowstone National Park, one of the 2 parks where I was spending my vacation. I just finished the book on the plane ride home (my brain is way too fuzzy for a proper review right now). There were so many experiences and places I shared with the book. Everything from a character doing an internship in Bozeman, MT where I was staying with my best friend, to encounters with the local wildlife and bear spray. At least from a tourists perspective, it seems fairly accurate and it's a bit like an easter egg hunt for those who have visited the area. If you're visiting Yellowstone, Grand Tetons of the Montana/Wyoming area this book is really fun to read as you travel.

The view from Beaver Pond Loop. The amazing thing about Yellowstone is that once you get on a trail you have so much solitude and space. |
At this point we joined 2 other groups of hikers, a family of 4 from Texas and a couple from California. We felt much safer & enjoyed the rest of the hike. |

Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. One of my favorite spots in Yellowstone. I'm still surprised that I had never heard of it before visiting. |
These elks just like to hang out at the Mammoth Hotel. People don't phase them at all. |

I am really impressed with your scenic pictures! I had a friend who did an internship in Jackson Hole, and she LOVED it. It definitely looks like a beautiful place! I've never been to Yellowstone, but would really like to get there at some point.
Thanks for posting the pictures! :)
Glad you like them! I love sharing vacation pictures but sometimes I worry that since it's a book blog I shouldn't (but obviously I just do what I want to lol).
Yellowstone is really cool. If you go you MUST MUST MUST get off the main boardwalks and venture into the woods. It's amazing how different it becomes the moment you travel more that 100 yards away from the road. The roads are packed but in the woods you barely see a soul.
It's actually really cool to see some of the places that are mentioned in Unearthly/Hallowed. The pictures you posted are so beautiful. So did you like the book?
I'm glad your run-in with a bear ended peacefully!
I did like the book! I'm still trying to come up with a rating. It's a little romance heavy BUT it develops over time and Tucker is my type of guy. Also its hard to separate out my "YAY Yellowstone" feelings form the book right now. But overall I found it very enjoyable and plan to continue the series.
As for the bear, I was glad that nothing happened. I was really scared when I saw her. My friend was a little too excited. She thought you saw bears on the trails all the time & it wasn't a big deal. I, on the other hand, have a great respect for anything that can kill me without effort. Afterwards we realized we had one of the best Yellowstone stories because all the other tourists were very impressed.
The pictures are awesome. I LOVE Unearthly & Tucker. I'm all about the romance. Hallowed is also a great read.
Oh WOW!
SOOO AWESOME!
I hope you had fun
I have never read Unearthly, but hopefully you enjoyed it!
Amazing pictures. I'm glad you liked the book. I'll be on the look out for your review! ;)
And, wow, you ran into a bear! I would have been terrified!
