Follow Friday - Reading vacation spot

Follow Friday is a feature created by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.  It's a fun blog hop where you meet other book bloggers and find people to follow.
Question: Summer Break is upon us! What would be the perfect vacation spot for you to catch up on your reading & Relax?

To be honest, reading isn't why I go on vacation. I love reading, but I can read anywhere. For me, vacations are for hiking and being outdoors. It's nice when you find a place perfect for both reading and exploring.  Last summer I went to Blackwater Falls, West Virginia (see my vacation photos here) for my summer vacation.  During the daytime I hiked but in the evenings I read. They had the most glorious reading spot--lawn chairs behind the lodge overlooking the gorge.  There was even a chilly breeze (and during a heat wave in July that's amazing)

This year I won't be doing much reading on my vacation because I'm going to Montana with my best friend (to see our other best friend!)  While I am super excited that we're going to Montana together, I'm a little sad that I won't be able to read in the airport.  One of my favorite things about flying is all the reading time you get while waiting. Long-layover? With a book it's a long adventure.

At Blackwater Falls when you're done reading you can watch the sunset.

What pretty pictures! I don't read a lot on vacation either. I guess that's why my answer was more along the lines of where I love to read. lol.
I'm hopping through from Novels, News and Notes this week but I also blog at Candace's Book Blog.
I'm a new follower via GFC!

Pretty pictures! :)
I can read anywhere too. But it'd be nice to read somewhere cozy and relaxing. Great answer.

I weirdly love airports. I always roam in them during trips lol. However, I agree; I don't want to read while in different places. I like exploring too much! New follower.

new follower here :) I agree with you about vacations and reading.

And with what to do about layovers. "With a book it's a long adventure." <--love that.

Here’s my FF.

@Preet: I love airports too! At first I thought it would wear off after I'd been in them more, but I still enjoy them. :D

Hi! Thanks for following me! returned the favor!

I'm the same way actually. When I go on vacation most of my reading is done on the way there. Family vacations when I was a kid were always active, Disney, DC, Grand Canyon Niagara you get the idea. Not a lot of downtime for reading.

I agree. During the actual vacation I don't really read much, but on the way there, sure. :)

I've been to Black Water Falls! It only about 1.5 hours from where I live. We made a day trip out of it. Did you hike up to the balancing rock?

Thanks for visiting!

I love being outdoors and exploring new places on vacation. And reading in the airport is the best. I travel for work and don't mind long layovers at all because I can read the whole time. Thanks for stopping by :)

Thanks for sharing the photos. I particularly like the one with the feet because it "says" RELAXATION.

I agree that vacations are supposed to be for activities and having fun etc. etc. but my family aren't really an action type so I end up reading FAR too much for their liking! However, swimming trumps reading all the time :)

Thanks for following. Following back x

Perfect destinations for reading? That's really a good topic to join in. About that, I prefer the oregon coast rentals! They really have great accommodations and good services. The scenery there were extremely refreshing and relaxing too.
